Ferucci 488 Prescription Glasses

If you like structure but not sharp angles, a soft square is the sweet spot. The Ferucci 488 is a women’s full-rim plastic soft square frame, sized 50-16-135, in Pink or Purple. You can order it with single vision, varifocal or bifocal lenses made to your prescription. It is part of our Ferucci collection.

Choosing your Ferucci 488 colour

Pink. The Pink version is translucent pink. It brightens the face and has a fresh, youthful feel.

Purple. In Purple, the frame is translucent lilac. It brings a little personality without overpowering your features.

If you are stuck between two, choose the one closest to the colours you wear most. You can always add a second pair later.

The details

The softened corners suit round, oval and heart-shaped faces, adding a little shape without looking severe. The translucent finish lets light through, so the frame looks lighter and softer than a solid colour.

The arms carry a decorative pattern that adds a bit of jewellery to the frame. The plastic frame is light on the nose and comfortable for all-day wear.

How it fits

With 50mm lenses, this is a compact frame that suits smaller faces. The 16mm bridge is on the narrow side. The 135mm arms are a standard length. Across the lenses and bridge it measures about 116mm.

Not sure about sizing? Compare these numbers with the ones on the inside arm of a pair that fits you well. A difference of two or three millimetres or less usually means a similar fit.

Lens options for the Ferucci 488

Your optician’s prescription will usually tell you which of these you need:

• Single vision: one prescription across the whole lens, for distance, reading or the computer.
• Varifocal: near, intermediate and distance in one lens, with no visible line.
• Bifocal: a separate reading segment in the lower part of the lens.
• Ready readers: simple magnification if you just need help with close work.

The 37mm lens depth works with single vision, bifocal and many varifocal lenses. If your prescription is high, a high-index lens keeps things thin. Before you order

Make sure your prescription is in date; most adults in the UK are advised to have an eye test every two years, and your optician will tell you if you need one sooner. You will also need your PD, which tells our lab where to centre the lenses. With those two things ready, ordering takes a few minutes: choose your colour, pick your lenses, enter your details and you are done.

A little care goes a long way

Can I get varifocal lenses in the Ferucci 488?

Yes. The 37mm lens depth gives varifocal lenses enough height for all three vision zones.

Can I use the Ferucci 488 as computer glasses?

Yes. Single vision lenses set to your screen distance, or varifocals if you also need distance vision, both work well for desk work.

Is it a small frame?

Yes. With 50mm lenses it suits smaller faces.

Will it suit a narrow nose?

Yes. The 16mm bridge is designed for slimmer noses.

Where are my lenses made?

In our UK optical lab. They are cut to your prescription, fitted into your frame and checked before they are sent out.
