Ascari Eyewear 052 Prescription Glasses

If you want a frame with a bit of attitude, start with a cat-eye. The Ascari Eyewear 052 is a unisex full-rim cat-eye frame, sized 52-16-135, in Black, Burgundy or Purple. You can order it with single vision, varifocal or bifocal lenses made to your prescription. It belongs to the Ascari Eyewear Collection.

Black. In Black, the frame is black and patterned teal. It looks sharp at work and just as good with jeans at the weekend.

Burgundy. Burgundy is a deep wine red. It is a grown-up way to wear colour.

Frame size and fit

At 52mm per lens, it sits in the medium range, the most common adult fit. The 16mm bridge is on the narrow side. The 135mm arms are a standard length. Across the lenses and bridge it measures about 120mm.

To check the fit, look at the three numbers printed inside the arm of glasses you already own. If they are within two or three millimetres, this frame should feel similar.

Lens options for the Ascari Eyewear 052

Choose the lens type that suits how you use your glasses:

• Single vision: the same prescription from edge to edge.
• Bifocal: distance at the top and a reading segment at the bottom.
• Varifocal: a smooth change from distance to reading, with no line.
• Ready readers: a fixed magnification for books, phones and screens.

The 36mm lens depth works with single vision, bifocal and many varifocal lenses. What you will need

Have your prescription to hand before you start. It shows the sphere, cylinder and axis for each eye, and sometimes your PD. If the PD is missing, your optician can give it to you. Then choose your colour and lens type, enter your prescription and add any extras, such as thinner lenses or a coating. You can check everything in your basket before you pay.

A little care goes a long way

Yes. The 36mm lens depth gives varifocal lenses enough height for all three vision zones.

Can I use the Ascari Eyewear 052 as computer glasses?

Yes. Single vision lenses set to your screen distance, or varifocals if you also need distance vision, both work well for desk work.

Will it suit a narrow nose?
