Joia 2586 Prescription Glasses

Some frames shout. The Joia 2586 doesn’t need to. It’s a women’s full-rim frame in lightweight plastic, sized 51-18-135, and it comes in two colours that are easy to live with: a clear, soft blue and a warm brown. Add single vision, varifocal or bifocal lenses made to your prescription and it quickly becomes the pair you reach for without thinking.

Blue or brown? Choosing your Joia 2586 colour

Go for blue if most of your wardrobe is grey, white, denim or black. It adds a little lift around the eyes without fighting your outfit, and it looks especially fresh against cool or fair skin.

Brown is the softer, warmer option. It sits happily alongside camel, olive and gold jewellery, and it tends to flatter warm or olive complexions and brunette or red hair. If you’ve worn black frames for years and fancy something gentler, start here.

The fit, in plain numbers

With 51mm lenses and an 18mm bridge, this is a medium frame that suits most faces. The Joia 2586 measures about 120mm across the lenses and bridge, and the 135mm arms are a standard length that keeps it sitting securely instead of sliding down your nose.

Want to be sure? Grab a pair of glasses that already feel right and look inside the arm. You’ll usually find three numbers, something like 50-18-135. If yours are within two or three millimetres of these, you’re in safe territory.

Picking lenses for the Joia 2586

The 38mm lens depth matters more than it sounds. It gives a varifocal lens enough height for its distance, middle and reading zones, so this frame works just as well for multifocal wearers as it does for everyone else.

• Single vision: one prescription for distance, reading or the computer.
• Varifocal: near, middle and far through one lens, with no line.
• Bifocal: a defined reading area at the bottom of the lens.
• Ready readers: a little magnification for books, menus and your phone.

Keep them looking new

Plastic frames are forgiving; lenses are not. Wipe them with a microfibre cloth rather than the hem of your shirt, keep them in their case when they’re in your bag, and never leave them on the dashboard on a hot day. Our lens care guide has a few more habits worth picking up.

Can I get varifocal lenses in the Joia 2586?

Yes. With a 38mm lens depth there’s plenty of room for all three vision zones.

Will it suit a smaller face?

It’s a medium frame, so it suits most faces. If your current glasses measure 49mm or less across each lens, a smaller frame may feel better.

Can I wear it for screen work?

Absolutely. Order it with single vision lenses for computer distance, or with varifocals if you also need to read close up.

Where are my lenses made?
