Freya Cheryl Prescription Glasses

Upswept corners have a way of lifting the whole face. The Freya Cheryl is a unisex semi-rimless cat-eye frame, sized 52-16-135, in Black, Burgundy or Purple. You can order it with single vision, varifocal or bifocal lenses made to your prescription. It is part of our Freya by Dunelm Collection.

Which colour is you?

Black. Black is a deep, solid black. It defines the eyes and goes with every outfit you own.

Burgundy. Burgundy is a deep wine red. It adds warmth without being too bright, and it suits most skin tones.

Purple. Purple is a rich purple. It adds a confident touch of colour and suits fair and cool skin tones.

About the Freya Cheryl design

The upswept outer corners suit round, oval and square faces especially well, giving the face a gentle lift. The frame runs along the top of the lenses only, so the lower edge is open and your view stays clear.

The tortoiseshell arms pair nicely with the front and give the frame a relaxed feel.

If you want a frame you can put on in the morning and forget about, the Freya Cheryl is a strong choice.

How to wear it

Keep the rest of your look simple and let the frame do the talking. It works just as well with workwear as it does with weekend clothes.

How it fits

The 52mm lenses make this a medium frame that suits most faces. The 16mm bridge is on the narrow side. The 135mm arms are a standard length. Across the lenses and bridge it measures about 120mm.

The easiest way to check is against glasses you already love. Most frames show their size inside the arm; if yours are close to these, you are in safe territory.

Lens options for the Freya Cheryl

• Single vision: one prescription across the whole lens, for distance, reading or the computer.
• Varifocal: near, intermediate and distance in one lens, with no visible line.
• Bifocal: a separate reading segment in the lower part of the lens.
• Ready readers: simple magnification if you just need help with close work.

The 38mm lens depth gives varifocal lenses plenty of room. If your prescription is high, a high-index lens keeps things thin. An anti-reflective, scratch-resistant coating is a sensible extra for everyday wear.

Ordering online is simple

You need a valid prescription from your optician and your pupillary distance (PD), the distance between your pupils. Many opticians include your PD on the prescription; if yours does not, just ask for it. Choose your colour, pick your lens type, enter your details and add any lens upgrades. If you are unsure about size, compare the measurements above with a pair you already wear.

Looking after them

Can I get varifocal lenses in the Freya Cheryl?

Yes. The 38mm lens depth gives varifocal lenses enough height for all three vision zones.

Is the Freya Cheryl comfortable for all-day wear?

Yes. It is a lightweight frame, and a thinner lens for a stronger prescription keeps the weight down even further.

What size is it?

It is size 52-16-135: 52mm lens width, 16mm bridge and 135mm arms, a medium fit.

Will it suit a narrow nose?

Yes. The 16mm bridge is designed for slimmer noses.

What does semi-rimless mean?

The frame runs along the top of the lenses only. The lower edge is held by a fine line, so the bottom of the lens is open.

Who glazes my lenses?

Our own optical lab in the UK. Your lenses are made to your prescription and fitted into the frame before your glasses are sent to you.
