Freya Edith Prescription Glasses

Upswept corners have a way of lifting the whole face. The Freya Edith is a unisex full-rim metal cat-eye frame, sized 53-17-140, in Black Mottle, Brown Mottle or Burgundy Mottle. You can order it with single vision, varifocal or bifocal lenses made to your prescription. You will find it in our Freya by Dunelm Collection.

Black Mottle. Black Mottle is easy to wear. Black suits every hair colour and frames the face with confidence.

Brown Mottle. Brown Mottle is a mottled brown. It is softer than black and suits brown, auburn and red hair.

Burgundy Mottle. Burgundy Mottle is easy to wear. It warms up the face and sits nicely alongside camel, olive and cream.

The details

The upswept outer corners suit round, oval and square faces especially well, giving the face a gentle lift. Slim metal arms keep the frame light and add a polished touch.

Choose the colour closest to what you wear most and it will go with almost everything.

Size and fit

The 53mm lenses make this a medium frame that suits most faces. The 17mm bridge is average. The 140mm arms are a standard length. Across the lenses and bridge it measures about 123mm.

To check the fit, look at the three numbers printed inside the arm of glasses you already own. If they are within two or three millimetres, this frame should feel similar.

Lens options for the Freya Edith

Pick the lenses that match your prescription:

• Single vision: one prescription across the whole lens, for distance, reading or the computer.
• Varifocal: near, intermediate and distance in one lens, with no visible line.
• Bifocal: a separate reading segment in the lower part of the lens.
• Ready readers: simple magnification if you just need help with close work.

The 40mm lens depth gives varifocal lenses plenty of room. Want lighter lenses? A high-index lens is thinner than standard plastic. Pair it with an anti-reflective coating for less glare when you drive after dark.

Before you order

Make sure your prescription is in date; most adults in the UK are advised to have an eye test every two years, and your optician will tell you if you need one sooner. You will also need your PD, which tells our lab where to centre the lenses. With those two things ready, ordering takes a few minutes: choose your colour, pick your lenses, enter your details and you are done.

Can I get varifocal lenses in the Freya Edith?

Yes. The 40mm lens depth gives varifocal lenses enough height for all three vision zones.

Can I use the Freya Edith as computer glasses?

Yes. Single vision lenses set to your screen distance, or varifocals if you also need distance vision, both work well for desk work.
