Aiken Prescription Glasses

The browline is one of those shapes that always looks a little bit clever. The Aiken by Walter & Herbert has a bold patterned top and a fine metal lower rim, so it draws attention up to your brows and leaves the rest of the face open and light. It is a women’s frame, sized 50-19-140, in turquoise, brown or grey.

Three patterns to choose from

Turquoise is the standout. The marbled blue-green top looks fresh and confident, and the gold lower rim gives it a touch of warmth. It is wonderful with red, auburn or dark hair.

Brown is a mottled, earthy pattern with a gold lower rim. It is the most classic of the three, softer than black and very easy to wear every day.

Grey mixes charcoal and smoke with a silver lower rim. It is cool and understated, and it suits grey or silver hair beautifully.

Why a browline works

A heavier top line lifts the face and frames the eyebrows, which can make you look more awake. The thin lower rim keeps the frame from feeling heavy, and the small decorative studs at the corners add a vintage detail. The shape suits round, oval and heart-shaped faces especially well.

Size and fit

The 50mm lenses make the Aiken a compact frame that suits small to medium faces. The 19mm bridge is a little wider than average, and the 140mm arms are a standard length. Compare these numbers with a pair you already own; they are usually printed inside the arm.

Before you order

Check that your prescription is current; an eye test every couple of years is a good habit, and your optician will tell you how often you need one. You will also need your PD, which tells the lab where to centre the lenses so you look through the right spot.
