A softly squared frame is one of the most versatile shapes around. The Ascari Eyewear 055 is a unisex full-rim metal soft square frame, sized 52-16-135, in Black, Burgundy or Navy. You can order it with single vision, varifocal or bifocal lenses made to your prescription. It is part of our Ascari Eyewear Collection.

Which colour is you?

Black. Black is a deep, solid black. It is the safest choice if you only want one pair, and it never looks out of place.

Burgundy. Burgundy is a deep wine red. It looks great with neutral outfits and a bold lip.

Navy. Navy is a deep, dark blue. It brings a cool, calm touch of colour that suits most skin tones.

If you are stuck between two, choose the one closest to the colours you wear most. You can always add a second pair later.

About the Ascari Eyewear 055 design

The softened corners suit round, oval and heart-shaped faces, adding a little shape without looking severe. Slim metal arms keep the frame light and add a polished touch.

Frame size and fit

The 52mm lenses make this a medium frame that suits most faces. The 16mm bridge is on the narrow side. The 135mm arms are a standard length. Across the lenses and bridge it measures about 120mm.

To check the fit, look at the three numbers printed inside the arm of glasses you already own. If they are within two or three millimetres, this frame should feel similar.

Lens options for the Ascari Eyewear 055

Your optician’s prescription will usually tell you which of these you need:

• Single vision: one prescription across the whole lens, for distance, reading or the computer.
• Varifocal: near, intermediate and distance in one lens, with no visible line.
• Bifocal: a separate reading segment in the lower part of the lens.
• Ready readers: simple magnification if you just need help with close work.

The 38mm lens depth gives varifocal lenses plenty of room. If your prescription is high, a high-index lens keeps things thin. Ordering online is simple

You need a valid prescription from your optician and your pupillary distance (PD), the distance between your pupils. Many opticians include your PD on the prescription; if yours does not, just ask for it. Choose your colour, pick your lens type, enter your details and add any lens upgrades. If you are unsure about size, compare the measurements above with a pair you already wear.

How your glasses are made

Your Ascari Eyewear 055 is glazed in our UK-based lab. Once you have chosen your lenses and entered your prescription, we cut and fit the lenses and check the finished glasses before they go out.

Keep them looking new

Clean your lenses with a microfibre cloth rather than your jumper, keep them in their case when they are in your bag, and do not leave them on a sunny car dashboard. Our lens care guide has more tips.

Can I get varifocal lenses in the Ascari Eyewear 055?

Yes. The 38mm lens depth gives varifocal lenses enough height for all three vision zones.

Is the Ascari Eyewear 055 comfortable for all-day wear?

Yes. It is a lightweight frame, and a thinner lens for a stronger prescription keeps the weight down even further.

What size is it?

Will it suit a narrow nose?

Yes. The 16mm bridge is designed for slimmer noses.
