Austin Cameo Prescription Glasses

Rectangular glasses add a little structure to the face without any fuss. The Austin Cameo is a men’s full-rim metal rectangular frame, sized 58-17-145, in Black or Navy. You can order it with single vision, varifocal or bifocal lenses made to your prescription. It belongs to the Cameo range.

Black or Navy?

Black. Black is a deep, solid black. It defines the eyes and goes with every outfit you own.

Navy. Navy is a deep, dark blue. It looks great with blue or grey eyes and pairs easily with denim and white.

Design details

Rectangular lenses suit round and oval faces, adding a bit of definition. The slim metal construction keeps it light and neat, and it is easy for an optician to adjust.

Choose the darker colour for the office and the lighter one for a more relaxed look. Either way, it is an easy frame to wear every day.

Size and fit

With 58mm lenses, this is a larger frame that suits wider faces. The 17mm bridge is average. The 145mm arms are on the longer side, which suits larger heads. Across the lenses and bridge it measures about 133mm.

Not sure about sizing? Compare these numbers with the ones on the inside arm of a pair that fits you well. A difference of two or three millimetres or less usually means a similar fit.

Lens options for the Austin Cameo

Choose the lens type that suits how you use your glasses:

• Single vision: one prescription across the whole lens, for distance, reading or the computer.
• Varifocal: near, intermediate and distance in one lens, with no visible line.
• Bifocal: a separate reading segment in the lower part of the lens.
• Ready readers: simple magnification if you just need help with close work.

If your prescription is high, a high-index lens keeps things thin. An anti-reflective, scratch-resistant coating is a sensible extra for everyday wear.

Before you order

Make sure your prescription is in date; most adults in the UK are advised to have an eye test every two years, and your optician will tell you if you need one sooner. You will also need your PD, which tells our lab where to centre the lenses. With those two things ready, ordering takes a few minutes: choose your colour, pick your lenses, enter your details and you are done.

How your glasses are made

Your Austin Cameo is glazed in our UK-based lab. Once you have chosen your lenses and entered your prescription, we cut and fit the lenses and check the finished glasses before they go out.

Keep them looking new

Rinse off any grit before you wipe, dry the lenses with a clean microfibre cloth, and take your glasses off with both hands so the arms stay aligned. See our lens care guide for more.

Is it a large frame?

Yes. With 58mm lenses it suits wider faces.

Can I use the Austin Cameo as computer glasses?

Yes. Single vision lenses set to your screen distance, or varifocals if you also need distance vision, both work well for desk work.

Do you make the lenses yourselves?

Yes. Every pair is made to order in our UK optical lab, where your lenses are cut to your prescription and fitted into your frame.
