If you want glasses that look smart and get out of the way, a rectangle is hard to beat. The Ferucci 1811 is a women’s full-rim metal rectangular frame, sized 48-16-130, in Gunmetal or Lillac. You can order it with single vision, varifocal or bifocal lenses made to your prescription. You will find it in our Ferucci range.

Gunmetal or Lillac?

Gunmetal. Gunmetal is a dark, smoky grey metal. It is cool, modern and understated, and it suits grey or silver hair especially well.

Lillac. Lillac is a soft, pale purple. It brings a little personality without overpowering your features.

If you are stuck between two, choose the one closest to the colours you wear most. You can always add a second pair later.

Rectangular lenses suit round and oval faces, adding a bit of definition. The arms carry a decorative pattern that adds a bit of jewellery to the frame.

At 48mm per lens, it is on the smaller side, which is ideal if most frames feel too wide. The 16mm bridge is on the narrow side. The 130mm arms are a little shorter than standard. Across the lenses and bridge it measures about 112mm.

The easiest way to check is against glasses you already love. Most frames show their size inside the arm; if yours are close to these, you are in safe territory.

The 33mm lens depth is on the slim side, so single vision or bifocal lenses usually work best. If your prescription is high, a high-index lens keeps things thin. You need a valid prescription from your optician and your pupillary distance (PD), the distance between your pupils. Many opticians include your PD on the prescription; if yours does not, just ask for it. Choose your colour, pick your lens type, enter your details and add any lens upgrades. Your Ferucci 1811 is glazed in our UK-based lab. Once you have chosen your lenses and entered your prescription, we cut and fit the lenses and check the finished glasses before they go out.

Keep them looking new
