Ferucci 2003 Prescription Glasses

A clean rectangular frame works at the office, at home and everywhere in between. The Ferucci 2003 is a men’s full-rim metal rectangular frame, sized 52-16-140, in Gold or Gunmetal. You can order it with single vision, varifocal or bifocal lenses made to your prescription. It is part of our Ferucci range.

Gold or Gunmetal?

Gold. Gold is a warm, soft gold. It suits warm and olive skin tones beautifully.

Gunmetal. Gunmetal is a dark, smoky grey metal. It is a quiet, professional finish that works with navy, charcoal and white.

If you are stuck between two, choose the one closest to the colours you wear most. You can always add a second pair later.

About the Ferucci 2003 design

Rectangular lenses suit round and oval faces, adding a bit of definition. The slim metal construction keeps it light and neat, and it is easy for an optician to adjust.

Styling tips

Short hair and a clean shave make the frame shape stand out; with longer hair or a beard it reads as more relaxed.

Size and fit

The 52mm lenses make this a medium frame that suits most faces. The 16mm bridge is on the narrow side. The 140mm arms are a standard length. Across the lenses and bridge it measures about 120mm.

Not sure about sizing? Compare these numbers with the ones on the inside arm of a pair that fits you well. A difference of two or three millimetres or less usually means a similar fit.

Lens options for the Ferucci 2003

Your optician’s prescription will usually tell you which of these you need:

• Varifocals if you want to see near and far without swapping glasses.
• Single vision for one task done well, such as driving, reading or screen work.
• Bifocals if you prefer a clearly defined reading area.
• Ready readers for straightforward close-up help.

The 32mm lens depth is on the slim side, so single vision or bifocal lenses usually work best. With a stronger prescription, a thinner high-index lens keeps the edges slim, and an anti-reflective coating cuts reflections from screens and street lights. Spend a lot of time on screens? What you will need

Have your prescription to hand before you start. It shows the sphere, cylinder and axis for each eye, and sometimes your PD. If the PD is missing, your optician can give it to you. Then choose your colour and lens type, enter your prescription and add any extras, such as thinner lenses or a coating. You can check everything in your basket before you pay.

How your glasses are made

Your Ferucci 2003 is glazed in our UK-based lab. Once you have chosen your lenses and entered your prescription, we cut and fit the lenses and check the finished glasses before they go out.

Looking after them

Rinse off any grit before you wipe, dry the lenses with a clean microfibre cloth, and take your glasses off with both hands so the arms stay aligned. See our lens care guide for more.

Is the Ferucci 2003 suitable for varifocals?

Yes. The 16mm bridge is designed for slimmer noses.

In our UK optical lab. They are cut to your prescription, fitted into your frame and checked before they are sent out.
