Visage Plastic 4545 Prescription Glasses

A round frame is an easy way to add a little character. The Visage Plastic 4545 is a women’s full-rim plastic round frame, sized 50-18-140, in Black, Havana, Navy or Purple. You can order it with single vision, varifocal or bifocal lenses made to your prescription. It is part of our Visage collection.

4 colours to choose from

Black. Black is a deep, solid black. It looks sharp at work and just as good with jeans at the weekend.

Havana. The Havana version is havana tortoiseshell. It warms up the face and sits nicely alongside camel, olive and cream.

Navy. In Navy, the frame is navy that fades to blue. It reads as smart and dark from a distance, with a little more personality up close.

Purple. The Purple version is translucent purple. It is softer than it sounds and looks lovely with grey or silver hair.

The details

Round frames soften angular features, so they are a great match for square and heart-shaped faces. A soft colour fade defines the brow line and lets the lower half of the frame melt away.

Because the colour is see-through, the frame has a light, glowing look. Look for the little studs at the corners, a classic detail that lifts the whole frame. Plastic keeps the weight down and allows richer, deeper colour than metal.

For work, pair it with a crisp shirt or blazer. At the weekend it looks just as good with a T-shirt and jeans.

Size and fit

At 50mm per lens, it is on the smaller side, which is ideal if most frames feel too wide. The 18mm bridge is average. The 140mm arms are a standard length. Across the lenses and bridge it measures about 118mm.

The easiest way to check is against glasses you already love. Most frames show their size inside the arm; if yours are close to these, you are in safe territory.

Pick the lenses that match your prescription:

• Single vision: the same prescription from edge to edge.
• Bifocal: distance at the top and a reading segment at the bottom.
• Varifocal: a smooth change from distance to reading, with no line.
• Ready readers: a fixed magnification for books, phones and screens.

The 40mm lens depth gives varifocal lenses plenty of room. If your prescription is high, a high-index lens keeps things thin. What you will need

Have your prescription to hand before you start. It shows the sphere, cylinder and axis for each eye, and sometimes your PD. If the PD is missing, your optician can give it to you. Then choose your colour and lens type, enter your prescription and add any extras, such as thinner lenses or a coating. You can check everything in your basket before you pay.

How your glasses are made

Every pair is made to order in our own UK lab. Your lenses are cut to your prescription, fitted into your Visage Plastic 4545 and checked by our technicians before they are sent out.

Looking after them

Yes. The 40mm lens depth gives varifocal lenses enough height for all three vision zones.

Can I wear the Visage Plastic 4545 for driving?

Yes. Single vision or varifocal lenses work well for driving, and an anti-reflective coating helps cut glare from headlights at night.

Is it a small frame?

Yes. With 50mm lenses it suits smaller faces.

What does the colour fade look like?

The colour is darker at the top of the frame and becomes lighter towards the bottom.

Where are my lenses made?
