Upswept corners have a way of lifting the whole face. The Visage Plastic 4549 is a women’s full-rim plastic cat-eye frame, sized 53-15-140, in Black/Blue or Black/Purple. You can order it with single vision, varifocal or bifocal lenses made to your prescription. It belongs to the Visage range.

Black/Blue or Black/Purple: which one is you?

Design details

The upswept outer corners suit round, oval and square faces especially well, giving the face a gentle lift. The patterned finish means no two angles look quite the same.

The plastic frame is light on the nose and comfortable for all-day wear.

How it fits

The 53mm lenses make this a medium frame that suits most faces. The 15mm bridge is narrow, so it sits securely on a slimmer nose. The 140mm arms are a standard length. Across the lenses and bridge it measures about 121mm.

To check the fit, look at the three numbers printed inside the arm of glasses you already own. If they are within two or three millimetres, this frame should feel similar.

Lens options for the Visage Plastic 4549

Choose the lens type that suits how you use your glasses:

• Single vision: one prescription across the whole lens, for distance, reading or the computer.
• Varifocal: near, intermediate and distance in one lens, with no visible line.
• Bifocal: a separate reading segment in the lower part of the lens.
• Ready readers: simple magnification if you just need help with close work.

The 36mm lens depth works with single vision, bifocal and many varifocal lenses. If your prescription is high, a high-index lens keeps things thin. What you will need

Have your prescription to hand before you start. It shows the sphere, cylinder and axis for each eye, and sometimes your PD. If the PD is missing, your optician can give it to you. Then choose your colour and lens type, enter your prescription and add any extras, such as thinner lenses or a coating. You can check everything in your basket before you pay.

Yes. The 36mm lens depth gives varifocal lenses enough height for all three vision zones.

Can I use the Visage Plastic 4549 as computer glasses?

Yes. Single vision lenses set to your screen distance, or varifocals if you also need distance vision, both work well for desk work.
