Ascari Eyewear 048 Prescription Glasses

If you want glasses that look smart and get out of the way, a rectangle is hard to beat. The Ascari Eyewear 048 is a unisex full-rim rectangular frame, sized 53-15-135, in Amber, Brown or Jade. You can order it with single vision, varifocal or bifocal lenses made to your prescription. It belongs to the Ascari Eyewear Collection.

Amber. In Amber, the frame is amber tortoiseshell. It is softer than black and suits brown, auburn and red hair.

Jade. In Jade, the frame is jade green tortoiseshell. It feels fresh and a little bit different, which is exactly why people notice it.

Keep the rest of your look simple and let the frame do the talking. It works just as well with workwear as it does with weekend clothes.

Frame size and fit

At 53mm per lens, it sits in the medium range, the most common adult fit. The 15mm bridge is narrow, so it sits securely on a slimmer nose. The 135mm arms are a standard length. Across the lenses and bridge it measures about 121mm.

The easiest way to check is against glasses you already love. Most frames show their size inside the arm; if yours are close to these, you are in safe territory.

Lens options for the Ascari Eyewear 048

Your optician’s prescription will usually tell you which of these you need:

• Single vision: the same prescription from edge to edge.
• Bifocal: distance at the top and a reading segment at the bottom.
• Varifocal: a smooth change from distance to reading, with no line.
• Ready readers: a fixed magnification for books, phones and screens.

The 38mm lens depth gives varifocal lenses plenty of room. If your prescription is high, a high-index lens keeps things thin. Before you order

Make sure your prescription is in date; most adults in the UK are advised to have an eye test every two years, and your optician will tell you if you need one sooner. You will also need your PD, which tells our lab where to centre the lenses. With those two things ready, ordering takes a few minutes: choose your colour, pick your lenses, enter your details and you are done.

Every pair is made to order in our own UK lab. Your lenses are cut to your prescription, fitted into your Ascari Eyewear 048 and checked by our technicians before they are sent out.

Keep them looking new

Yes. The 38mm lens depth gives varifocal lenses enough height for all three vision zones.

Can I use the Ascari Eyewear 048 as computer glasses?

Yes. Single vision lenses set to your screen distance, or varifocals if you also need distance vision, both work well for desk work.
