Visage Metal 4537 Prescription Glasses

If you want glasses that look smart and get out of the way, a rectangle is hard to beat. The Visage Metal 4537 is a women’s full-rim metal rectangular frame, sized 48-17-130, in Bronze or Lilac. You can order it with single vision, varifocal or bifocal lenses made to your prescription. You will find it in our Visage collection.

Bronze or Lilac: which one is you?

Bronze. In Bronze, the frame is bronze-rose. It gives a polished, classic finish that never looks loud.

Lilac. Lilac is a soft, pale purple. It adds a confident touch of colour and suits fair and cool skin tones.

The details

Rectangular lenses suit round and oval faces, adding a bit of definition. Metal lets the frame stay slim and light while keeping its shape.

Size and fit

At 48mm per lens, it is on the smaller side, which is ideal if most frames feel too wide. The 17mm bridge is average. The 130mm arms are a little shorter than standard. Across the lenses and bridge it measures about 113mm.

Not sure about sizing? Compare these numbers with the ones on the inside arm of a pair that fits you well. A difference of two or three millimetres or less usually means a similar fit.

Lens options for the Visage Metal 4537

Your optician’s prescription will usually tell you which of these you need:

• Single vision: one prescription across the whole lens, for distance, reading or the computer.
• Varifocal: near, intermediate and distance in one lens, with no visible line.
• Bifocal: a separate reading segment in the lower part of the lens.
• Ready readers: simple magnification if you just need help with close work.

The 31mm lens depth is on the slim side, so single vision or bifocal lenses usually work best. If your prescription is high, a high-index lens keeps things thin. What you will need

Have your prescription to hand before you start. It shows the sphere, cylinder and axis for each eye, and sometimes your PD. If the PD is missing, your optician can give it to you. Then choose your colour and lens type, enter your prescription and add any extras, such as thinner lenses or a coating. You can check everything in your basket before you pay.

Looking after them
