Amberstone Prescription Glasses

Upswept corners have a way of lifting the whole face. The Amberstone is a women’s full-rim plastic cat-eye frame in Pink, Purple or Teal. You can order it with single vision, varifocal or bifocal lenses made to your prescription. It belongs to the Infusion collection.

Which colour is you?

Pink. Pink is a soft pink. It brightens the face and has a fresh, youthful feel.

Purple. Purple is a rich purple. It works beautifully with navy, grey and silver jewellery.

Teal. In Teal, the frame is teal and black. It pairs well with neutrals, denim and earthy colours.

Still torn? Think about what you wear on an ordinary weekday, not on a night out. That is the colour you will be happiest with.

Why you will like it

The upswept outer corners suit round, oval and square faces especially well, giving the face a gentle lift. The striped finish adds texture that changes as the light catches it.

The patterned finish means no two angles look quite the same. Plastic keeps the weight down and allows richer, deeper colour than metal.

Whether it is your main pair or a spare, the Amberstone is easy to live with. Thinking of a second pair? The Amberstone works well as a backup.

Styling tips

Match the frame colour to something you wear often, such as a favourite scarf or bag, for a pulled-together look. Neutral make-up keeps the focus on your eyes.

How it fits

At 52mm per lens, it sits in the medium range, the most common adult fit.

To check the fit, look at the three numbers printed inside the arm of glasses you already own. If they are within two or three millimetres, this frame should feel similar.

Lens options for the Amberstone

Choose the lens type that suits how you use your glasses:

• Single vision: one prescription across the whole lens, for distance, reading or the computer.
• Varifocal: near, intermediate and distance in one lens, with no visible line.
• Bifocal: a separate reading segment in the lower part of the lens.
• Ready readers: simple magnification if you just need help with close work.

If your prescription is high, a high-index lens keeps things thin. An anti-reflective, scratch-resistant coating is a sensible extra for everyday wear.

What you will need

Have your prescription to hand before you start. It shows the sphere, cylinder and axis for each eye, and sometimes your PD. If the PD is missing, your optician can give it to you. Then choose your colour and lens type, enter your prescription and add any extras, such as thinner lenses or a coating. You can check everything in your basket before you pay.

Every pair is made to order in our own UK lab. Your lenses are cut to your prescription, fitted into your Amberstone and checked by our technicians before they are sent out.

Looking after them

Clean your lenses with a microfibre cloth rather than your jumper, keep them in their case when they are in your bag, and do not leave them on a sunny car dashboard. Our lens care guide has more tips.

A second pair?

Plenty of people keep more than one pair of glasses: one for work, one for home, or a spare in the car. A second pair also means you are never stuck if your main glasses are being repaired. This frame is an easy choice for either role.

Yes. It is a lightweight frame, and a thinner lens for a stronger prescription keeps the weight down even further.

Who glazes my lenses?

Our own optical lab in the UK. Your lenses are made to your prescription and fitted into the frame before your glasses are sent to you.
