Ferucci 2049 Prescription Glasses

If you want glasses that look smart and get out of the way, a rectangle is hard to beat. The Ferucci 2049 is a men’s full-rim metal rectangular frame, sized 49-17-135, in Gunmetal/Black or Navy/Silver. You can order it with single vision, varifocal or bifocal lenses made to your prescription. It belongs to the Ferucci collection.

Choosing your Ferucci 2049 colour

Gunmetal/Black. The Gunmetal/Black version is gunmetal and black. It defines the eyes and goes with every outfit you own.

Navy/Silver. The Navy/Silver version is silver and navy. It goes with almost everything and never draws too much attention.

If you are stuck between two, choose the one closest to the colours you wear most. You can always add a second pair later.

Shape and style

Rectangular lenses suit round and oval faces, adding a bit of definition. A bar across the top of the bridge gives the frame a classic aviator touch and adds strength to the front.

How it fits

With 49mm lenses, this is a compact frame that suits smaller faces. The 17mm bridge is average. The 135mm arms are a standard length. Across the lenses and bridge it measures about 115mm.

To check the fit, look at the three numbers printed inside the arm of glasses you already own. If they are within two or three millimetres, this frame should feel similar.

Lens options for the Ferucci 2049

Pick the lenses that match your prescription:

• Single vision: the same prescription from edge to edge.
• Bifocal: distance at the top and a reading segment at the bottom.
• Varifocal: a smooth change from distance to reading, with no line.
• Ready readers: a fixed magnification for books, phones and screens.

The 34mm lens depth is on the slim side, so single vision or bifocal lenses usually work best. If your prescription is high, a high-index lens keeps things thin. Before you order

Make sure your prescription is in date; most adults in the UK are advised to have an eye test every two years, and your optician will tell you if you need one sooner. You will also need your PD, which tells our lab where to centre the lenses. With those two things ready, ordering takes a few minutes: choose your colour, pick your lenses, enter your details and you are done.

Looking after them
