A softly squared frame is one of the most versatile shapes around. The Freya Evelyn is a unisex full-rim metal soft square frame, sized 54-16-140, in Aqua, Burgundy or Cream. You can order it with single vision, varifocal or bifocal lenses made to your prescription. It is part of our Freya by Dunelm Collection.

Shape and style

The softened corners suit round, oval and heart-shaped faces, adding a little shape without looking severe. The arms carry a decorative pattern that adds a bit of jewellery to the frame.

The slim metal construction keeps it light and neat, and it is easy for an optician to adjust.

How it fits

The 54mm lenses put it at the upper end of medium. The 16mm bridge is on the narrow side. The 140mm arms are a standard length. Across the lenses and bridge it measures about 124mm.

The easiest way to check is against glasses you already love. Most frames show their size inside the arm; if yours are close to these, you are in safe territory.

Lens options for the Freya Evelyn

Choose the lens type that suits how you use your glasses:

• Single vision: one prescription across the whole lens, for distance, reading or the computer.
• Varifocal: near, intermediate and distance in one lens, with no visible line.
• Bifocal: a separate reading segment in the lower part of the lens.
• Ready readers: simple magnification if you just need help with close work.

The 40mm lens depth gives varifocal lenses plenty of room. If your prescription is high, a high-index lens keeps things thin. An anti-reflective, scratch-resistant coating is a sensible extra for everyday wear.

Ordering online is simple

You need a valid prescription from your optician and your pupillary distance (PD), the distance between your pupils. Many opticians include your PD on the prescription; if yours does not, just ask for it. Choose your colour, pick your lens type, enter your details and add any lens upgrades. If you are unsure about size, compare the measurements above with a pair you already wear.

From our lab to you

Your Freya Evelyn is glazed in our UK-based lab. Once you have chosen your lenses and entered your prescription, we cut and fit the lenses and check the finished glasses before they go out.

Keep them looking new

Rinse off any grit before you wipe, dry the lenses with a clean microfibre cloth, and take your glasses off with both hands so the arms stay aligned. See our lens care guide for more.

Can I get varifocal lenses in the Freya Evelyn?

Yes. The 40mm lens depth gives varifocal lenses enough height for all three vision zones.

Can I wear the Freya Evelyn for driving?

Yes. Single vision or varifocal lenses work well for driving, and an anti-reflective coating helps cut glare from headlights at night.

What size is it?

It is size 54-16-140: 54mm lens width, 16mm bridge and 140mm arms, a medium fit.

Will it suit a narrow nose?

Yes. The 16mm bridge is designed for slimmer noses.

Where are my lenses made?

In our UK optical lab. They are cut to your prescription, fitted into your frame and checked before they are sent out.
